Drop Those Daisies - Time Needs Heroines To Stay Busy

Action scenes are a blast to write. 
And then it’s time to edit.
I just found that my protagonist (heroine), Bella Salas, is standing around watching a life and death struggle- while holding a bunch of daisies. Gotta put that gal to work.

A whole colony of time travellers live over the fence from me here in California's San Francisco Bay Area.

These Coast Redwoods take their time travel slow. They just put their roots down for one to two millenniums. No magic charm or Time Machine required.

The Planner - But Where Do You Get Your Ideas?

It takes a lot of time just to corral all my different schemes, projects, and proposals.
Just for one day I'd like to be one of those people who ask, "But where do you get your ideas?" 
Only for one day.

Today, The Planner, wants to toss her carefully laid out planner in the air 

And head for an unknown Time Portal.

Most Important Task in my Erin Condren Planner this Week

Had a great walk to the mailbox with my husband and dog after supper last night. We could only drop two completed ballots into the box. The pooch doesn't get one. 

Though I bet somebody's dog is voting out there.

What We Moderns Forget: Envelopes

The letter had been lost for 450 years. It’s envelope had gotten stuck under the inside flap of an old ledger box. No museum archivist had noticed it until Will Sainsbury came along to do a little research of his own.

I must have edited that scene fifteen to twenty times, before it occurred to me that a letter written in  the era of Elizabeth the First would probably not have been enclosed in an envelope,

Back in ancient days of BCE, Babylonians and Chinese people are known to have provided protective wrappings for some communications. It’s not totally beyond the realms of possibility others throughout the ages sometimes protected something important. 

But we better just fold up Will’s letter, seal it, and push it in under the lid.
